Project Experience

Armstrong Parkin Architects (APA) has a broad body of experience in the design and management of projects for commercial, public/institutional and individual clients across the metropolitan and regional areas of Western Australia.

Co-Directors, Colin Armstrong and Stephen Parkin, each have more than twenty years experience in the leadership of architectural design and project management.

APA is a versatile architectural practice that is readily able to apply itself to many diverse projects.

The following pages provide a sample portfolio of APA’s collective project experience. This includes primary, secondary and tertiary education facilities, master planning studies and residential projects. Within this range of project types APA has designed buildings that include complex specialist training facilities for TAFEWA and high schools, community libraries, and the full complement of all types of teaching, administration, recreation and support facilities required for primary and secondary education.

APA’s other project experience includes the design of cinemas, university facilities such as collaborative learning centres, library, student college accommodation, science laboratories and archival research. Other unusual projects include an ecotourism resort, a national memorial, an environmentally sustainable surf life saving club and a Muslim prayer centre.
